About Notes Taken

Discover more. Guess less.

Fragrance is personal. Finding the right one shouldn’t feel like a guessing game.

There are thousands of fragrances to explore, but very few of us can walk into a store and try them all. Some are hard to find, others are expensive to sample, and a list of notes doesn’t always tell you how something might actually feel.

That’s why I created Notes Taken.

A different way to discover fragrance.

I wanted to make fragrance discovery more interactive, intuitive and personal. Somewhere you could follow the notes you love, explore different moods and atmospheres, discover unfamiliar fragrance houses and find scents you might never have considered.

Rather than telling you what you should like, Notes Taken helps you explore what you’re naturally drawn to.

Made for the curious.

Whether you’re searching for your next signature scent, exploring niche perfumery or simply figuring out what you enjoy, these tools are designed to help you narrow the possibilities.

They can’t replace smelling a fragrance on your own skin, but they can help you decide what’s worth discovering next.

A note from the founder.

I’m Cai, the person behind Notes Taken.

I’ve always been fascinated by fragrance, from the natural beauty of flowers, woods and resins to the way a scent can evoke a place, memory or feeling.

I created Notes Taken to bring that curiosity into one place, combining fragrance knowledge, interactive exploration and a little inspiration from astrology for anyone who enjoys it.

Your personal taste always comes first.

Independence and transparency

Recommendations are chosen on fit alone. Some shop links may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you, but this never changes which fragrances we suggest or the order shops appear in. We only show prices we have verified with the retailer.
