The considered choice

Sample before you choose

A full bottle is a commitment. A sample can help you decide whether a fragrance belongs on your shelf.

Start with a short list

Save the fragrances that interest you and compare two or three. Look for the exact name and concentration rather than assuming similarly named versions are interchangeable. Missing verified notes are a reason to check the original product source, not to fill in the gaps.

Check what you are ordering

  • Confirm the fragrance, concentration and volume in millilitres.
  • Check whether the sample is manufacturer-packaged or a retailer-prepared decant, and who supplies it.
  • Read the retailer’s shipping, return and sample terms before paying. Do not assume a sample purchase is refundable.
  • Check the actual checkout currency and full delivered total; a converted estimate is not the checkout price.

Keep your own impressions

Follow the product’s use instructions. Give yourself time to decide what you enjoy, rather than relying on an invented score or someone else’s certainty. Mark a scent as sampled, loved or not for you; your own reactions can guide the next discovery.

Availability, without assumptions

Notes Taken has not confirmed sample offers yet. A “to sample” list is your intention, not a stock claim or order. We will show buying links only when the exact product and retailer availability have been checked; purchases will finish with the retailer.
